Domain Name:
A domain name is your web
site's name, your
URL, mine
is
www.WeCustomizeWebSites.com. Please note that when you order a design
through WeCustomizeWebSites.com, you will be
the owner of your web address / URL, not
someone else. Please keep this in mind
when shopping for a design, because you want
to be the owner of your site, not the
designer.
-
Hosting Account:
A hosting account is where a company has a
computer server that is connected to the world
wide web. You need to pay a monthly
fee and with
it's
FREE!
If you're experienced,
you can get your own server/hosting, but you'll
need to talk with an expert for that request.
-
Keywords:
Keywords are important to search
engines, such as Google and Yahoo and are
"behind the scenes" out of view from anyone
surfing your site. These keywords should
be words people use to search for your site.
-
Links: Links are
connections, words that you click on and then
are brought to another page either within the
same web site or to a whole new site all
together.
-
Online: Online is just like it
states....Being online with your web site
through it's URL / Domain Name so people on the
world wide web can locate you.
-
Pay Pal: Is a company that you
can pay a fee to get an account with them so
people visiting your site can pay for their
items in their shopping cart.

where we can publish it online.

Shopping Cart: A shopping cart
on your web site is a place where people can
make purchases and they're stored in the cart
until they're ready to purchase their items.
-
SSL Certificate:
This Certificate, A Secure Sockets Layer
(encryption) costs about $30.00 and is
given to web sites so information sent over the
internet is encrypted. This site has one
for when you send in an order or when you
contact us, that information is encrypted so no
one but myself sees that information. This
is to help protect your customer's personal
information from getting into the wrong hands. Installing a Secure SSL
Certificate will allow you to secure online
business and build customer confidence by
securing all online transactions with up to a
256 bit encryption.

Template
Site vs. Custom Web Site: I've
found that template sites that you build
yourself take a month or longer to learn, IF
you're just starting out and don't know a
lot about building a web site. Been
there, done that. Besides in the long
run, they cost more for hosting.
After having my "template" site up and
running for it's first year, I learned
Google considers it a duplicate site since
someone else has that same "look and feel",
therefore, Google puts you low on their
rankings, something that's obviously not
very good when you want people searching for
your site, you don't want to be at the
bottom of the pile. Therefore, custom
sites work best all around.
